Trekking in the Langtang region is one of the nearest trekking destinations from Kathmandu, and it lies between the Himalayan range to the north, dominated by Langtang Lirung (7,245 m), the highest peak in the area, and smaller peaks to the south – Chimse Danda (ridge), Ganja La pass (5,122 m), Jugal Himal and Dorje Lakpa (6,989 m).
Langtang trekking is a great way to explore the Himalayas of Nepal However, only a few tourists have visited the area yet. Wildlife like a wild dog, red panda, pika, muntjac, musk deer, Himalayan black bear, Himalayan tahr, Ghoral, serow, rhesus monkey, langur monkey, snow leopard, and about 373 species of birds including tragopan and pheasant also are found in the park.
Langtang trek mostly revolves around the Langtang, Gosainkunda Lake, and the Lauribinayak pass. The Langtang valley is a narrow mountain valley nestled with the Himalayas and called to be the valley of glaciers. The highest peak in the Langtang region is Langtang Lirung (7,246 m) which stands just north of Langtang valley. You can see the panoramas of this mountain right from Langtang valley, and you also have non-stop views of other smaller peaks in the areas are Ganjala Pass (5,122 m), Gang Chhenpo (6,388 m), Naya Kangri (5,846 m), Dorge Lakpa (6,989 m), Chimse Danda (ridge), Jugal Himal and so on.
You also explore the rolling Sherpa, Tamang, and Hyolmo hamlet in Helambu, Gatlang, Briddhim, who have very distinct traditional practices like handicrafts, calligraphy works.
