The Short Annapurna Circuit Trek - 9 Days offers a concise, high-elevation journey that allows you to experience the best of the world-famous Annapurna region of Nepal in under two weeks.

This condensed version of the classic Annapurna Circuit cuts out the long walking days of the lower Marsyangdi Valley and begins your journey in the highlands, where the real magic begins. This route is a suitable trekking option for those with limited time. It will help you access the Himalayas right in the middle of the Himalayas, crossing one of the most famous passes, Thorong La (5,416 m), along a journey through a varied scenery of high mountains, remote towns, and Buddhist culture deeply entrenched within.

The itinerary is quite rushed, starting with a one-hour scenic road trip to Chame and then continuing with a dramatic track that passes through Pisang, Manang, Yak Kharka, and Muktinath. After traversing this amazing high point, you leave for the sacred village of Muktinath (3,800 m). From here, the trail breaks into stunning trans-Himalayan landscapes. You will drive past the awe-inspiring Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, before reaching the lake city (Pokhara).

There are amazing/gaping sceneries of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak, as well as winding Kali Gandaki Valley tracks along the way. This trek offers all the challenge, culture, and beauty. Still, with the support of professional guides, accommodation in teahouses, and adaptation included, so you don't have to commit 2 to 3 weeks of your time.

Being either an active beginner or a skilled trekker too busy to take on the whole of Annapurna Circuit, the Short Annapurna Circuit is your opportunity to claim one of the most emblematic routes in Nepal within 9 days.

Scenic drive to Dharapani: Your Journey Begins

The journey begins with a long yet breathtaking drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani, tracing the winding courses of the Trishuli and Marshyangdi River gorges as they slice through the emerald-green slopes and cultivated fields.

Along the way, you'll encounter cascading waterfalls, roadside towns, layered rice terraces, and views of local life tucked into the hillside. As you climb higher, the view shifts, and the lush green hills give way to snow-covered mountains shimmering on the horizon, adding a touch of magic to the ride. It's the kind of scenic route that's soothing, adding an element of charm and mystery to the drive and setting the tone for the rest of your adventure with a mix of natural beauty and local charm.

Diverse Terrain

The trek spans a wide range of altitudes, from lush forests in the lower regions to high-altitude landscapes, making each day on the Trail unique due to its geographical diversity. You'll pass through suspension bridges, climb steep inclines, and walk through serene valleys surrounded by towering mountains. You will have the opportunity to experience two distinct Himalayan regions: Manang and Mustang.

High Altitude and Challenging Terrain

You'll trek through dramatic elevation changes from Chame at 2600m to 5,416m at Thorong La Pass. You will walk through rocky trails, steep climbs, and also occasional snow or ice at higher altitudes. From 5 to 7 hours of walking, it also involves 8 to 10 hours on days of the Thorong La Pass, making this trek physically demanding.

Rich Culture and Scenic Variety

You'll pass through Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan-influenced villages. You will have the opportunity to experience Gurung's rich tradition of music, dance, and folklore. As you go higher, Tibetan culture will win your heart as you encounter prayer wheels, fluttering prayer flags, chortens, and the chants of "Om Mani Padme Hum" in Buddhist monasteries, all while hiking through forests, cliffs, valleys, and high deserts.

Overnight stays in beautiful Himalayan villages

One of the best-kept secrets of the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek? The incredible mountain villages you pass through along the way.

Every stop looks heavenly: gorgeous views, calm vibes, and friendly locals. From the quaint villages of Chame to the alpine charm of Pisang, the cultural wealth of Manang, and the high-altitude serenity of Yak Kharka, every overnight stay offers not only rest but a shift in scenery and atmosphere - it's magic. These cozy, culturally immersive teahouses with panoramic views will be in your memory forever.

Trek through the wilderness of the Annapurna Conservation Area

The Trail goes through Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal's largest protected region. Annapurna Conservation Area is home to hundreds of species of vegetation and wildlife. So, expect a rich variety of flora, fauna, rivers, pasturelands, and waterfalls on your way. It protects both the indigenous people and the park's natural resources. From a rhododendron forest to high-altitude wildlife, such as the Himalayan blue sheep, this place has it all.

The short Annapurna Circuit trek starts inside this park. After Yak Kharka, you begin to enter the lower Mustang area (from Muktinath onward), where the landscape becomes drier, wind-carved, and more Tibetan in character.

Side hike in Manang village

Day 5 of the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek is dedicated to acclimatization, and there is no better place for this than the village of Manang(3,540m), nestled under soaring peaks. Spending time acclimatizing here is essential to being safe and comfortable at higher elevations. The stone-built houses, yak pastures, and ancient monasteries illustrate the harmonious blend of practicality and spirituality in daily life.

To make the most of your rest day, take a beautiful side hike to the tranquil and stunning Gangapurana Lake (3,525 m) or the spiritually inspiring Cave Gompa (4,000 m). These short hikes not only help your body acclimate to the thin air but also reward you with dramatic glacier views, stunning mountain scenery, and a sense of calm isolation under towering cliffs, making it hard to remember any tiredness along the way.

Visit the ancient monasteries

The Annapurna Circuit takes you through ancient monasteries, offering a spiritual reprieve amidst the rugged trek. You will explore centuries-old Braga Monastery near Manang, perched on a hill with magical views of the Annapurna range. Additionally, the Kagbeni Monastery in Mustang features a Tibetan-style design, showcasing the true Tibetan culture.

Explore hillside mani walls carved with sacred mantras, and colorful prayer flags fluttering on suspension bridges. These sacred symbols create a spiritual rhythm to the trek that goes beyond the physical Trail.

Welcoming mountain community and cultural heritage

One of the many things that makes the Annapurna region so special is the amazing mix of cultures you'll experience along the Trail. Unlike other Himalayan regions, this area is home to many diverse groups, including the Chhetris, Brahmins, Magars, Gurungs, Thakalis, and others, each with its language, customs, and way of life, which adds depth to your trek.

As you walk, you'll also have the opportunity to visit ancient temples and serene monasteries, and learn about the rich culture and profound spiritual heritage of the Himalayas. You'll have the chance to learn about their lifestyle and participate in their traditions or festivals.

Thrill of the Thorong La Pass

For thrill seekers, crossing Thorong La Pass is a crown jewel of the trek. Thorong La Pass, at an elevation of 5,416 meters (17,769 feet), is the highest point of the Annapurna Circuit as well as one of the highest passes in the world. The climb is tough but steady, and the reward is great: 360 views of the Himalayas, whipping prayer flags, and a triumphant sense of achievement.

The pass is located in the Damodar Himal range, just north of the Annapurna Mountains. The pass connects Manang village east of the Annapurna Circuit with Muktinath and Ranipauwa to the west (in the Mustang district), marking a significant milestone in completing the full Annapurna Circuit trek.

Visit Muktinath Temple: A significant pilgrimage site in Nepal.

Muktinath is a sacred temple situated at an elevation of 3,800 meters in the mountains, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, a popular deity in Hinduism. The site is a prominent pilgrimage destination for Hindus, but it also holds spiritual significance for Buddhists. Pilgrims across South Asia travel here to bathe in 108 water spouts and offer prayers at the eternal flame shrine.

The temple is surrounded by rich stories from centuries past, along with stunning views of the mountains, which contribute to its popularity. The spiritual energy of this temple, set against arid cliffs and mountain backdrops, adds deep meaning to your trek.

Spot Yak Caravans and Himalayan Wildlife

Above Yak Kharka, you are bound to notice actual yak caravans hauling merchandise over the wild passes in the high Himalayas, a classic glimpse of life in the wild Himalayas. If you are fortunate, blue sheep may appear, or Himalaya griffons, or even a lammergeyer (bearded vulture) in the air.

Mountain Silence and Mindfulness

North of Manang, the landscape is vast and serene, offering opportunities to experience genuine silence, interrupted only by the wind or the crunch of snow beneath one's feet. It is where most trekkers report having a form of mental reset. It is not only picturesque but also very contemplative.

Taste Himalayan Salt Tea and Local Food

In addition to dal bhat, you will have the opportunity to taste local delights such as Thakali thali, yak cheese, buckwheat pancakes, and butter tea (a salted milk tea that typically comes with ghee). The cuisines of these regions reflect centuries of survival, culinary adaptations to high altitudes, and a rich tradition of hospitality.

Ride through the Kali Gandaki Gorge and charming villages to Pokhara

Your trip concludes with a scenic drive along the Kali Gandaki Gorge, considered the world's deepest gorge, through the picturesque villages of Marpha and Kagbeni in Mustang. If you are in the right season, along the way, you will witness a beautiful apple orchard in Marpha (the city of apples).

You will eventually drop down in the green loping lakeside city of Pokhara, where you get to relax and contemplate your crossing of the Himalayas, finally. The drive will treat you to pleasant mountain views before you join the relaxed town of Pokhara. You'll have the evening free to relax and enjoy the tranquility of Phewa Lake.

Witness stunning mountain panoramas and distinct landscapes

Get ready to witness majestic peaks from day one in the short Annapurna Circuit Trek. Throughout the trek, you will see incredible sights of some of the marvels of the world, namely Mt. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna II, III & IV, Annapurna South, Mt. Nilgiri, Fishtail (Machapuchare), Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, to name a few.

The landscapes change daily from green valleys to rocky deserts to snowy highlands, keeping every step visually and emotionally stimulating. The changing environments, from lush forests to alpine deserts, leave you energized, positive, and lucid about every part of the Trail.

Other spectacular peaks you will see include Pisang Peak, Chulu Peak, Hiunchuli, Khatungkang, and Ghundang. These beautiful mountains take your breath away and inspire every footfall you take.

Our Full Annapurna Circuit Trek is a 15-day program that includes your arrival and departure days to and from Kathmandu, A day tour in Kathmandu, and a trek to Poon Hill. It is more gradual but longer in days.

On the other hand, the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek starts in Kathmandu and ends in Pokhara. Kathmandu sightseeing is not included, and both of these itineraries follow the same route.

It depends on your needs, goals, time, and trekking style. Both the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek (9 Days) and the Full Annapurna Circuit Trek (15 Days) offer stunning mountain views and rich cultural encounters, but they deliver the experience in different ways.

The short Annapurna Circuit trek is the perfect choice for those traveling alone and seeking to exercise a little self-reliance. Whereas solo trekking was once the norm, Nepal has enacted a law requiring every foreign trekker to hire an authorized guide, regardless of whether the trek is solitary. This regulation is applicable in the Annapurna Conservation Area because Nepal aims to enhance safety and operational efficiency in rescue operations.

As a solo trekker, you will still have all the independence that your pace allows, with the ease of changing your itinerary and returning to your own space, but with the added advantage of a professional local guide who takes care of navigation, arranging accommodations, planning teahouses, and other details. Short Annapurna Circuit Trek Plan

The road to the Himalayas begins!

The adventure begins with an eye-catching yet long road trip to Dharapani, starting at Kathmandu. The path is a serpentine route through some river valleys, green hills, terraced fields, and distant villages, leaving the urban noise of the city behind.

You will ride alongside the rivers Trishuli and Marshyangdi, passing through Besisahar, and then climb into the lower Himalayas. With increased altitude, the scenery will turn into subtropical vegetation and then the pine-covered slopes, and with some luck, you may see your first view of distant snow-capped mountains. Overnight at Dharapani, the entrance to the upper Manang area.

Max Altitude: 1,960m / 6,430 ftMeals: Lunch and dinnerAccommodation: Guest houseDuration: 9-10 hoursDistance: 180km / 111 milesTravel Mode: Local Bus/Jeep

Time to get on that excellent trail! Forests, waterfalls, and your first big mountain views.

The initial trekking day will take you through picturesque villages such as Bagarchhap and Danaque, and pathways covered under pine and fir forests, as well as maple forests. We will follow the trail westward, with some ups and downs, until we reach the quiet little village of Bagarchhap.

You will traverse bridges over mountains of glacial rivers, hike alongside running waterfalls, before increasingly having a sense of the clear mountain air. Just as you arrive at Chame, which is the administrative headquarters of the Manang District, you get a breathtaking view of Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, and Lamjung Himal.

By the end of a long day, rest nicely and soundly in the middle of the Manang district.

Max Altitude: 2,675m / 8,776 ftMeals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinnerAccommodation: Guest houseDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 18km / 11 milesTravel Mode: Walking

The trail narrows, the peak rises, and the scenery becomes magical.

Leaving Chame, the trail cuts deep into the Marsyangdi River Gorge in thick forests until it expands to impressive alpine views. But nature has a dramatic surprise in store, a massive, towering 1,500-meter rock wall (PaungdaDanda) rising sheer from the river, stealing the spotlight on the path, a spectacular natural feature.

From here onwards, green vegetation is replaced by open, wide, and spectacular alpine landscapes. A few suspension bridges, a bit of altitude gain, and you step into the very open Manang valley and reach Pisang, where the high Himalaya is fully exposed. We can see the stunning views of Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, and the Annapurna Ranges.

Max Altitude: 3,100m / 10,170 ftMeals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinnerAccommodation: Guest houseDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 15km / 9 milesTravel Mode: Walking

The scenic route through traditional Himalayan villages.

Today, we are at the starting point of the upper region of the Manang district, Pisang. We have two routes to reach Manang. We ascend to the high route towards Ghyaru and Ngawal, which provides an irreplicable panoramic view of Annapurna II, Pisang Peak, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak, among others.

The section of the trek combines the beauty of the Alps with culture as one passes through Buddhist mani walls, prayer flags, and ancient stone houses dating back hundreds of years. We will walk past Ngawal, trekking through Braga, where the major attraction is the Gompa. The last part is a stroll to the fascinating and well-developed village of Manang.

Max Altitude: 3,540m / 11,614 ftMeals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinnerAccommodation: Guest houseDuration: 6-7 hoursDistance: 19km / 11 milesTravel Mode: Walking

We're taking a rest day in the middle of Manang. But don’t worry, rest is not boring! There’s plenty to explore here.

We'll stretch our legs in the morning with a scenic walk to either glacial-blue Gangapurna Lake (3,525 m) or serene Cave Gompa (4,000 m). Either way, as they will be in the distance, you’ll enjoy some amazing views of Chulu Peak, Thorong Peak, Pisang Peak, Annapurna, and Tilicho Peak.

Max Altitude: 3,540m / 11,614 ftMeals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinnerAccommodation: Guest houseDuration: 3-4 hoursDistance: 4km / 2 milesTravel Mode: Walking

Above the tree line and into high-altitude wilderness.

The trees begin to diminish as you make your exit from Manang, and the landscape turns more dry and rocky. You continue walking through Tenki and then reach the silent JarsangKhola Valley, where you can even observe blue sheep, Himalayan birds, or even a grazing yak. Moving forward, we will be seeing fields of horses and several yaks grazing.

Once we pass the tiny village of Ghunsa, followed by a crossing on a wooden bridge and a short uphill walk, which leads to the small settlement of Yak Kharka, we enter a land of sweeping alpine meadows and silence. The silence is broken only by our footsteps and the breeze. The beauty of Yak Kharka makes it a perfect place to stay overnight.

Max Altitude: 4,050m / 13,287 ftMeals: Breakfast, Lunch and dinnerAccommodation: Guest houseDuration: 4-5 hoursDistance: 9km / 5 milesTravel Mode: Walking

Today's hike is shorter but steeper, with rocky terrain and thinning air. After we rise north from Yak Kharka, crossing a suspension bridge near Ledar, a beautiful village, the trail climbs sharply toward Thorong Phedi, the last stop before the pass. The biggest challenge- and biggest reward!

It's the summit day! This will be the hardest, exhilarating, and most thrilling day of the trek. We are walking in the dark before sunrise to avoid strong winds in the afternoon. Then, we will climb a steep switchback trail to the summit of Thorong La Pass, the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit.

The panoramas at the top are surreal: a 360 Himalayan panorama, blown prayer flags, and an unforgettable experience of accomplishment. The eye-catching view of Mt. Annapurna, Gangapurna, Khatungkang, Dhaulagiri, and many more peaks is there to make your day after a challenging climb.

We then spend several hours celebrating at the summit, and after descending to the sacred village of Muktinath, the place of Lord Vishnu, which is revered by both Hindus and Buddhists.

We'll spend the night celebrating our huge milestone.

Farewell to the mountains, return to lakeside serenity!

On our final morning on the trail, we visit the holy Muktinath Temple, where 108 gomukh (water spouts) and an eternal flame shrine make it one of Nepal's most sacred sites. People run under 108 sprouts, claiming to wash away their sins and receive the blessings of God Vishnu. Only Hindus are permitted to enter the shrine, but exploring its tranquil surroundings is a memorable experience.

Then, we take a jeep or bus ride back to Pokhara, descending through the stunning Kali Gandaki Gorge (the world's deepest gorge).

You'll pass by charming villages like Marpha and Jomsom (if you come in the right season, then you will also witness the beautiful apple orchard covering the whole town) and valleys, and watch the Himalayas waving goodbye in the distance before reaching the lakeside comfort of Pokhara in the evening. After almost two weeks on the trail, comfort, celebration, and a hot shower await us all in this pleasant city.

This 9-day journey condenses the heart of the Annapurna Circuit, combining altitude, culture, and stunning scenery into an unforgettable high-mountain adventure.

What makes the Short Annapurna circuit trek challenging?

High Altitude

  • You will spend a few days over 3,500 meters and will be crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), which is one of the highest trekking passes in the world.
  • The decreased oxygen makes every encounter more difficult and results in a more susceptible condition of altitude sickness if not well acclimatised.

  • The Thorong La cross day may include 8-10 hours of steep ascent and a long descent - a huge physical challenge.

Fitness Required for Short Annapurna Circuit Trek

The short Annapurna circuit trek is a challenging high-altitude adventure that requires more than average fitness, but it doesn't demand professional-level athleticism. With good preparation and a strong, right mindset, a healthy person can complete the trek successfully.

The adventure involves daily trekking of 4 to 9 hours over difficult mountain trails- sometimes uphill, sometimes on rocky or snowy terrain. You will be exposed to high–altitude above 3500 m for multiple days.

You will reach the highest point of 5,416 meters at Thorong La Pass, so it is advisable to have previous trekking experience, good health, and reasonable stamina. Your adventurous spirit and determination are great assets for this short and remarkable trek.

Atitude sickness and How to avoid it?

The short Annapurna Circuit Trek reaches a high point at Thorong La Pass (5,416m / 17,769 ft.), which is one of the highest trekking passes in the world. Due to the rapid gain in elevation over just a few days, there is a real risk of altitude sickness (AMS) on the Short Annapurna Circuit trek if proper precautions aren't taken. In this Quick Short Annapurna Circuit trek, you ascend quickly from 2650m (Chame) to 4500 m in just four trekking days. But it's definitely manageable with the right approach.

Altitude sickness is your body's reaction to low oxygen levels at high altitudes. It starts above 2,500 metres. Symptoms of AMS include: Headache, nausea or vomiting, dizziness, loss of appetite, trouble sleeping, fatigue, or shortness of breath, etc.

How does Outfitter Himalaya minimize your risk?

Our itinerary includes a full acclimatization day in Manang. We have carefully planned a route with gradual elevation gain. It is carefully designed to keep our daily elevation climbs under 500 meters to help your body adjust slowly. We have trained guides who monitor your health daily.

We also follow the golden rule of "climb high, sleep low," which helps your body adapt naturally.

Don't worry! You'll be in good hands because our amazing crew will constantly monitor for any signs of altitude issues and ensure you feel supported at every step. We will have access to portable altitude medication or oxygen (on request).

Tips to avoid AMS on the Short Annapurna Circuit trek

  • Drink 3-4 litres of water daily as dehydration worsens symptoms
  • Avoid alcohol or sleeping pills
  • Don't rush, walk slowly at your pace
  • Balance diet- eat well and keep your energy up
  • Inform your guide immediately if symptoms appear

Short Annapurna Circuit Trek preparation: How to prepare for the Annapurna Circuit Short Trek?

The high-altitude Short Annapurna Circuit Trek is an experience that gives 9 days of serious adventure. Getting physically and logistically prepared, you will be able to take on the trail and have a great time with a confident smile.

Physical Preparation: As you will be going over the Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) and walking 5 to 8 hours a day, cardiovascular endurance and leg strength, as well as stamina, are what you need to develop.

  • Recommended Training (start 4 - 6 weeks before)
  • Exercise ( 4-5 days/ week): hiking, jogging, stepping on stairs, cycling (45-60 mins)
  • Power: lunges, squats, plank exercises, resistance bands training
  • Day hikes carrying a 6-10kg pack to practice real rough life conditions
  • Include some uphill trails or stair workouts
  • These activities help build your endurance and stamina.

Mental preparation: Mental strength is important as well. The Thorang La crossing is long and intense. Staying mentally resilient, especially in cold, thin air, is just as essential as physical strength. So, be adaptable and unemotional, regardless of whether the weather changes or the road becomes difficult. Be prepared for basic accommodation, early starts, and long days with difficult paths.

Altitude Acclimatization: Altitude can affect even a regular person (though he/she might be a fit one). Our itinerary has an acclimatization and a rest day in Manang, but it's smart to:

  • Avoid rush or skip acclimatization days
  • Consume 3-4 litres of water every day
  • Consider altitude meds (visit the doctor)

Packing Essentials: Pack light but smart. Warm layers, strong trekking boots, a rain jacket, and a power bank will be required. Check out our full packing list for the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek, below of this page.

Pro tip: break in your boots before your arrival in Nepal.

Documents & Insurance

  • For permits, bring two passport photos and a copy of your passport.
  • Ensure that you have travel insurance that covers trekking even at higher altitudes of 5,000 m and that also has a provision for evacuation in case of any emergency.

Vaccinations and Health: Although there are no obligatory vaccines to take, you are advised to discuss with your doctor about:

  • A and B Hepatitis
  • Typhoid
  • Tetanus booster
  • Prevention of travel sickness

Also, a personal first aid kit should be carried with the basics such as altitude meds, rehydration salts, and blister care. Remember, you do not have to do anything intense; stay consistent, and you'll be more than ready for the trails.

Can you hike the Annapurna Circuit on your own?

Most trekkers choose to trek the Annapurna Circuit independently. But, you can no longer hike the Short Annapurna Circuit in its entirety by yourself legally. The Hiring of a licensed guide became mandatory in the Annapurna region since April 2023, when the Government of Nepal announced that Hiring is essential for all foreign trekkers.

You still can travel in solo style with your own itinerary and speed, but you must be followed by a certified guide in terms of safety, coordination of rescues, and compliance with permits. You will be in high mountains, where altitude sickness and the occasional accident can and do happen. Having a guide during your trek adds valuable support without compromising your freedom- and making the trek a safer, comfortable one.

Outfitter Himalaya always provides you with a professional guide. Not only will you stay safer, but you will also worry much less and truly live in the moment.

Do you need crampons for the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek?

Generally, Crampons or micro spikes are not required on the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek, even when crossing Thorang La Pass, especially in the main seasons: autumn (September to November) or spring (March to May when the trails are mainly dry, snow-free, and in good condition. Solid trekking boots with a good grip would do the trick.

But if you decide to go in winter (January to February) or encounter unexpected heavy snowfall, the trail may become icy and slippery, particularly near the pass and high traverse. So, we recommend taking along light crampons or micro-spikes. Chances are, you won't use them, but having them in your backpack gives you an additional sense of safety and confidence on the trail.

Meals and Drinks in the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek

A balanced diet is a must during the Himalayan trek. Every meal helps you get the energy, rest, and strength for a long walk. During this trek, you'll get freshly cooked meals at local teahouses along the route. It may be simple, but it is enriched in flavor. On the Short Annapurna Circuit trek, your three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are included every day. We will eat breakfast and dinner at the teahouse where you stay, and lunch will be done at a small stop where you can rest and have warm food.

Most of the teahouses offer popular Nepali traditional dishes (such as Dal, bhat, and vegetables). Still, you can also find Western options, such as noodles, soup, momos, chow mein, and fried rice. You will have the opportunity to taste local breakfasts, including porridge, Tibetan bread, tea, khapse, and other traditional foods such as pancakes and muesli.

If you prefer vegetarian or vegan food, please let us know and we will prepare it for you. However, please note that vegan choices are limited. It's hard to find plant milk in the mountains, but you can get tofu. For drinks, you'll find bottled water, herbal teas, instant coffee, and soft drinks at most stops. If you'd like to purchase snacks, soft drinks, or a beer, please bring some extra money with you, as these items are not included in the package.

Accommodation in the Short Annapurna Circuit Trek 9 Days

During the Short Annapurna Thorong La trek, you will stay in locally run mountain teahouses. Teahouses along the Annapurna Circuit Trek are basic but offer comfortable, warm, and cozy rooms with attached bathrooms in most of them.

Rooms are with shared or twin beds at higher altitudes, and private rooms may be available at lower altitudes. Bathrooms are mostly shared in remote areas, but occasional western-style bathrooms are available in larger villages, such as Mustang or Muktinath. Sleeping rooms do not have heating, so we recommend bringing a sleeping bag for extra warmth.

Facilities like hot showers, power sockets, and Wi-Fi are not free; they are available for a small fee, typically $2-$5. Rest assured, we handpicked lodges/teahouses. You will be staying in a clean, cozy place. After all the warmth of fire-lit dining, laughter shared over dal bhat, and that first sip of tea with a magical sunrise, it's the cold mountain water that you'll remember.

Outfitter Himalaya pre-arranges accommodations to ensure comfort, safety, and availability, even during peak seasons.
