Jiri Everest base camp trek difficulty

Jiri Everest base camp trek begins with a leisurely walk through lush subtropical forests and gradually follows verdant foothills. The trail crosses many passes and involves at least 6 hours of walking most days.

As the trek progresses, the terrain advances to steeper and rocky sections. You will ascend to alpine forests from subtropical forests and slowly come above the tree line.

From Dingboche onwards, you'll leave the tree line and walk on the glacier (Dughla) to reach Lobuche village. The terrain now follows the Khumbu glacier. You will walk on steep-trodden paths, cross avalanche debris and boulder fields.
