The Tamang heritage Langtang Valley trail is within the Langtang National Park. It is home to numerous flora and fauna. As the trek route is spread across varying elevations, trekkers discover diverse vegetation, birds, and other natural wonders. You will not encounter dangerous wildlife during trekking, so do not worry. Trekkers usually see Langur monkeys and butterflies.

Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek route
The trek begins with a fabulous drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the trailhead. It will be a long 7 to 8-hour drive, so you will spend the night here and continue trekking the next day. Follow a downhill trail to Goljang Valley and trek to Gatlang village.
From here, you will trek past the Chilime Hydropower dam and ascend to Tatopani. You can enjoy natural hot springs in Tatopani by paying a few bucks. Further, the trail continues through lush forests to Thuman. On the way, pass by Brimdang and Nagthali Danda.
Spend a night in Thuman and trek to Briddim. All these are Tamang villages, where you will spend nights and get to know them and their lifestyle closely. From Briddim onwards, you will continue the trek to Langtang Valley.
Trekking through dense forests, ascend to Lama Hotel. The trail then goes to Langtang Village, passing by Ghoda Tabela and ancient stupas. You will also cross a bridge over the Langtang River. Further, the trail ascends to Kyanjin Gompa, where you will spend two nights.
Kyanjin Gompa is an ancient monastery and important religious center in the Langtang Valley. It is also the highest settlement on the Tamang heritage with the Langtang Valley trek. During your one full day here, you will hike to Kyanjing Ri or Tserko Ri's viewpoint. This place offers a surreal mountain vista and sunrise.
Likewise, you will visit a local yak cheese factory and taste test the cheese. You can also purchase the cheese to take home as a souvenir.

We provide airport pick-up service on your arrival day in Kathmandu. Our team will be at the arrival gate to welcome you. They will transfer you to the hotel in a private vehicle.
Your hotel will be in the tourist hub of Kathmandu, Thamel. Unpack and rest. Later, explore your surroundings.
We spend one full day in Kathmandu exploring some tourist sites and preparing for the trek. In the morning, you will visit historical sites like the Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanth Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. One of our expert guides will guide you on the tour.
After the tour, we proceed with preparing for the trek. You will meet with your mountain guide, who will brief you on the trek plan. Do not hesitate to ask your questions. You can buy any missing trekking gear and pack your duffle bags.
The trailhead is an 6 to 7-hour drive from Kathmandu. You will leave Kathmandu early in the morning and enjoy a comfortable and scenic ride to Syabrubesi. On the way, enjoy the peace of the hills and mountains like Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal. The highway is well-made along lush hills and terraces.
After leaving Syabrubesi, you will gradually start walking uphill. The views of Ganesh Himal, Goljang Valley, and the Gosaikunda range are superb on the way.
Soon, the trail descends to Goljang Valley and continues to Gatlang village. In this part of the way, the views of Shishapangma and Langtang Lirung are fantastic. Gatland is a beautiful village with traditional stone houses.
From Gatlang, you will descend to Thangbuche. Walking there will be wonderful, as you will enjoy splendid views of the Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. On the way, you will come across the Chilime Hydropower dam. From here, follow an uphill route to Tatopani. This village has natural hot springs. You can visit the hot springs later in the day to relax.
Tatopani onwards, you will trek through lush forests to Thuman. The trail ascends via Brimdang and Nagthali. From the Nagthali Danda, the mountain views are spectacular. The route is inside the rhododendron and bamboo forests. Likewise, the views of snow-capped mountains and the region's tranquility allow you to unwind and enjoy nature. Thuman is a lovely Tamang village.
The trail from Thuman is flat and leads to Briddim, a remote village located at the foot of the Langtang Himal. Follow the forested route and trek to this village. The mountain views are stunning on this day. Upon reaching Briddim, get some rest and later explore the town to see the daily lifestyle of the locals.
From Briddim, you will continue the trek to Langtang Valley. The last few days of walking will help you acclimate and get used to the terrain so you are ready to hit the higher trails. The trail goes through lush rhododendron and bamboo forests for several hours to reach Lama Hotel. You will also walk along uneven hillsides and see fantastic scenery on the way.
Start trekking following a river and enjoying the lush environment. The outstanding view of Langtang Lirung and other mountains on the way will encourage you to trek ahead. The trail gradually ascends and crosses a long bridge. Walking via meadows, you will arrive at Ghoda Tabela.
You may have lunch here and continue trekking through dense forests. On the way, you may see langur monkeys. Soon, the police checkpost will arrive. Register your permits and follow an uphill route to Langtang village. You will trek past many stupas, chortens, and prayer wheels on the way.
From Langtang village, you will trek to the last settlement of Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gompa. The trail is rocky and steep in some sections. You will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, and chortens. On the way, you will also see one of the most extensive mani walls. Arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, witnessing a mesmerizing landscape and mountain views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lhakpa, Langtang Ri, etc.
In the early morning, you will hike to Tserko Ri to see a gorgeous sunrise and mesmerizing mountain views. The hiking route is steep and rugged, so you have to pay extra attention. You will be traversing an isolated area surrounded by peaks and mountains.
From here, you can see Yala Peak, Naya Kanga, Langtang Lirung, Langshisha Ri, and more. Later in the day, you can explore the Kyanjin Gompa and visit the local yak cheese factory.
Begin the day early with a big breakfast. Afterward, you will leave Kyanjin Gompa and walk downhill following the same trail. Descend to Langtang village and trek through dense forests to Lama Hotel. Cross bridges on the way and enjoy beautiful landscapes.
Today is your last day of the trek. You will return to Syabrubesi, where the trek ends. You will retrace the route from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi. The trail goes through lush forests, crossing a few bridges. Spend the night in Syabrubesi.
After breakfast, you will leave Syabrubesi early in the morning. You will follow a scenic highway back to Kathmandu. The guide will drop you off at your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Unpack and relax. Later, window shop in Thamel and enjoy its bustling streets. In the late evening, we may meet for a farewell dinner and hand over the trek certificate to you.
The trek has ended. You can extend your trip with us in Nepal or fly home. Our team will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport at your flight departure time.

Hire a Trekking porter
We suggest you to hire a porter to carry your bag pack while on trek, trekking with a light day pack is much easier and you enjoy your trekking holidays to the fullest. A trekking porter carries about 20-22 Kg (about 10-11 Kg from each of you), and we suggest to hire a porter in between of two trekkers.

The Tamang heritage with Langtang Valley trek is relatively easy, but as you have to spend 10 out of 14 days in the mountains without modern comforts, the journey can be difficult for some trekkers. Likewise, you will walk at least 6 hours daily, so decent fitness and willpower are required.
You have to be able to push yourself mentally and adjust to the limitations and changing environment. If you are in good health and shape, the Tamang Heritage with Langtang Valley trek will be accessible. If you think you are not physically and mentally ready for the journey but wish to do this trek in Nepal, start preparing.
