Davis Falls Visit in Pokhara

Located in the Kaski district of Nepal, the Davis Falls is a must-visit destination in Pokhara. While the waterfall may seem unremarkable at first glance, it truly comes to life during the monsoon season. As the water rushes down the rocky slopes, it creates a deafening roar that drowns out all other sounds. Visitors are advised to bring a raincoat or umbrella to protect themselves from the splashing water. Despite the danger, tourists still venture close to the falls to witness its raw power. It's a truly unforgettable experience that shouldn't be missed.

Davis Falls, also known as Patale Chhango in the local language, is a popular tourist destination in Pokhara, Nepal. The waterfall got its name after a tragic incident in 1961 when a Swiss woman, Mrs. Davis, was swept away by the strong currents while swimming near the falls and fell to her death. Her body was found three days later in the river Phusre. It is said that her father requested the people of Pokhara to name the waterfall after his daughter, but due to a language barrier, it was named Davis Falls instead of Devi Falls, which means "Goddess Falls" in Nepali. Despite the tragic history, the waterfall remains a beautiful and awe-inspiring sight to behold.

Devis Falls in Pokhara

The tunnel is about 500 feet long, and it runs 100 feet below ground level. The water passes through a cave called Gupteshwor Mahadev. The main source of water for the lake is Phewa Lake. The waterfall sits along the Siddhartha highway and is reachable from Damside Pokhara. On the other side of the road lies the Gupteshwor Mahadev cave.

The Davis Falls is a popular tourist site for both Nepali and non-Nepali tourists. Visit this amazing site at its peak time to witness the unblemished beauty of nature.
