Additionally, there are flights from Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, to Lhasa. If you're looking to travel overland, the journey from Nepal is relatively easy compared to other countries.

Best Time to Travel Tibet

When planning a trip to Tibet, the climate may not be the most important factor to consider. Despite its nickname as the "Land of Snow," Lhasa surprisingly has a lack of snow. While it can be cold during the winter months, it is still possible to travel to Lhasa and explore the surrounding areas. So, the best time to travel to Tibet really depends on your personal preferences and what you want to experience during your trip.

If you're planning a trip to Tibet, the best time to go is during the spring and summer months, from April to November. During this time, the weather is mild and pleasant, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. However, if you're only interested in city tours, you can still visit Tibet during the winter months, when the crowds are smaller and the prices are lower. Just be prepared for colder temperatures and the possibility of snow.

The time of the spring from April till November is the best time to travel to Tibet, and you can do only some city tours in winter in Tibet.

Tibet/China visa information

Visa requirements for Tibet/China can vary and are subject to change. If you plan on starting your Tibet tour in Kathmandu, you will need a multiple entry visa for Nepal. This can be obtained from the nearest Nepalese Embassy/consulate or upon arrival at Kathmandu airport. It is important to stay up to date on any changes in visa requirements before embarking on your trip.

To do so, we require a color scan copy of your passport at least 20 days prior to the start of your trip, followed by your actual passport with your presence five days before the visa issuing days. It's important to note that if you plan on entering mainland China, you must obtain a Chinese visa from your home country. Please keep in mind that visa regulations in Tibet are subject to change, so feel free to ask us for the latest information on this matter.
