Explore Mt. Everest- the highest mountain in the world

Mt. Everest is the highest mountain in the world. Reaching the top of this mountain may be a dream for many humans, but may not be doable for many because of all the limitations. So, here we come with the Everest base camp trekking for 14 days. You get to reach a magnificent height on this trek and achieve a huge accomplishment.

Fly in and out of Lukla airport- a very famous airport for its small runway and location

One of the major highlights of Everest base camp trekking 14 days that begin/ends the journey in the Khumbu region is the flight between Kathmandu and Lukla airport. Located at 2,860 meters, Lukla has a very tiny airport and welcomes only twin otters. The overwhelming landing/take-off is another level of thrill in itself. The flight both ways offer breathtaking aerial scenery.

Come across the rich flora & fauna of Sagarmatha National Park

A huge part of the 14 day Everest base camp trek route goes through the Sagarmatha National Park. Starting from Monjo onwards, the national part stretches up to Mt. Everest. This national park is home to many natural wonders, from dense forests to villages, waterfalls, streams, lakes, rivers, gorges, moraines, glaciers, peaks, hills, etc.

While trekking, you'll see a range of vegetation and flowers along with the national flower of Nepal, the rhododendron. Some lucky trekkers have gotten to see a red panda, Himalayan Tahr, wild boar, musk deer, birds, etc while trekking. Who knows what the trail has kept for you.

Mingle with locals while spending nights in the mountain villages

So, our Everest base camp 14 days trekking itinerary has the most beautiful villages for night stops. Resided by Sherpas and people of other communities, you collectively get to see their culture & tradition. All the villages are worth taking pictures of and present tempting scenery.

Our major night stops are Phakding, Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep. We book accommodation in all the villages in advance to make sure you do not have to worry about getting a room in the peak trekking season.

Adventurous trail with fascinating artistic monasteries & prayer flags

As we all know, the Everest base camp 14 days trail is quite adventurous because of all the ascends and descends along narrow and steep hillsides. The old bridges, streams, and glacier crossing make the journey very fascinating. You pass by mules and yaks. Trust us, you'll never see such a hospitable surrounding anywhere else, where everyone is smiling and saying Namaste to each other even if they are strangers.

Along the trekking route, there are many stupas and monasteries. You visit ancient Khumjung monastery, and Tengboche monastery during the Everest base camp trek 14 days. Apart from these monasteries, you can see prayer wheels, chortens, and prayer flags everywhere. The locals are followers of Buddhism mostly.

Witness diverse landscapes and mountain views, unwind & bond with nature

Even if we count mountains on our fingers, we'll not be able to fit every single one we see while trekking. Every step of the trek will bring you close to nature. The tranquil and soothing environment will let you unwind your thoughts and become clearer with your life. The lush green valley changes into barren, rocky hills.

Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Island Peak (6,160 m), Lobuche Peak (6,119 m), etc are some of the Himalayan mountains you see on Everest base camp trek 14 days.

Stunning sunrise from Kala Patthar- the highest point of the trek

At 5,545 meters, Kala Patthar boasts gorgeous sunrises along with 360-degree views of mountains. This part of the trail takes you above the cloud and presents heavenly scenery. As Mt. Everest is not seen from Everest Base Camp, we hike to Kala Patthar to relish one of the best views of this gigantic mountain.

FAQs

  • Q1. How difficult is the 14-day Everest base camp trek?

Everest base camp trek – 14 days brings moderate difficulty with it. It means the trail has no technical climbing or needs advanced physical fitness. However, there are long ascends and descends along rugged, forested paths. Apart from the trodden trail, the high altitude and limited infrastructure makes the Everest base camp 14 days of trekking tough for some trekkers.

The high altitude and drastic change in the environment may lead some trekkers to acute mountain sickness. It is also called altitude sickness. How your body reacts at high altitudes is out of our control. Still, we try our best to give you the best service and immediate medical assistance if you, by chance, suffer from altitude sickness during the trek.

  • There are a few things that you can do to make the Everest base camp 14 days of trekking smoother for you. First of all, make sure your itinerary has ample rest days. Altitude sickness is a common concern for trekkers on the Everest Base Camp 14 days trial. This can be caused by the rapid change in elevation and can be very serious if not properly managed. To reduce the risk of altitude sickness, it's recommended to acclimate to the high altitude by taking rest days, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding overexertion.

It's also important to be prepared for the weather conditions, which can change quickly in the mountains. This can make the trail slippery and difficult to traverse, and can also increase the risk of hypothermia. Everest Base Camp 14 Days Trek

If you are thinking about doing Everest Base Camp Trek, stop + Just book it!

I just returned from the trek and can’t recommend it enough. You can do this alone (as I did) and join another person/group or go with friends. Either way, you won’t regret it. Some days are challenging but very achievable at any fitness level, and you feel great at the end of each day and pumped for the next.

Raj and the team at Outfitter were all class right from the start and after seeing the interaction from other guides with their groups (the non-outfitters) I knew we had an as great guy.

Everyone you will meet is like-minded so it’s easy to make friends or if you like, just wander through the mountains at your own pace.

Everest Base Camp Trek 14 Days Review

We booked to do the Everest Base Camp Trek with Outfitter Himalaya for May. Our flight was delayed and we arrived close to midnight, and our guide was there patiently waiting for us.

The hotel provided was very comfortable and on the next day we met with Arjun who briefed us on the trip. We were then taken on a fabulous tour of Kathmandu with a very knowledgeable guide. Most enjoyable!

The following day we flew to Lukla and started or trek. The accommodation was far more luxurious that I had expected. There were flushing toilets, showers and a very comprehensive menu. After 8 days we reached Everest base Camp and then the following day, started our trek down.

After we returned to Kathmandu we were invited for dinner, who asked us for honest feedback. Such a nice gesture!

I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Outfitter for Everest Base Camp trek. It was well organised, the guides were well trained and very informative. I also found it to be extremely reasonably priced.
