Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is the largest national park in the Terai region of Nepal. Its extensive grasslands and forests are completely untouched by people.

This park is a perfect example of how to care for and respect all aspects of Mother Nature. Bardia National Park is said to be similar to what Chitwan National Park used to be before the commercial development, which was nearly 30 years ago.

The beauty of this park is that animals walk freely, unhindered by the nearest human civilization.

Bardia National Park, established in 1988 as "Royal Bardia National Park," covers nearly 968 square kilometers and adjoins the eastern bank of the Karnali River, bisected by the Babai River, in the Bardia district.

The crest of the Shivalik Hills divides this park's northern boundary, and the Nepalgunj to Surkhet highway forms its southern boundary.

This protected area is near the Banke National Park, and together, they are considered the Tiger Conservation Unit extending toward 2,231 square kilometers.
