From Pokhara, it's about an hour-long drive to Nayapul, the starting point of the Ghorepani Ghandruk journey. The trail ascends through dense oak, pine, and rhododendron forests, among other things.
You'll pass many villages and small settlements. On the first day, the trail ascends to Tikhedhunga (1,480 m). It's a relatively gentle walk through terraces, waterfalls, and rivers.
Then comes the hike to Ghorepani village (2,874 m). This part of the trail is challenging because you have to climb a long staircase that is said to be around three thousand. You'll cross suspension bridges and walk past villages like Ulleri (2,070 m) and Nangethanti (2,510 m). The next day brings the exciting hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m), the major highlight of the Ghorepani Ghandruk Odyssey.
Ghandruk trekking is short, but the terrain is steep and rough. Once reaching Poon Hill, spectacular stretching views of the western Himalayas and gorgeous sunrise will bless your eyes. After enjoying the views, the trail descends to Tadapani (2,630 m) for a night stay.
You are now at the end phase of the Trek. It's time to walk to Ghandruk village, following the gentle slopes of Bhise Kharka. We spend some time in this village and continue the walk to Kimche (1,550 m), where the Trek ends and you'll drive back to Pokhara.
