You must see the Himalayas in Nepal. On the second day of the nine-day luxury Nepal tour itinerary, we have included an early morning mountain flight that lets you witness aerial views of the eastern Himalayan mountains. It's a short flight that begins and ends at Kathmandu's domestic airport.
During the flight, the air hostesses will help you find different peaks. You get to see the five eight-thousander giants: Mt. Everest (8,849 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), and Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m). Likewise, the flight also offers views of other mountains like Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Pumori (7,161 m), Thamserku (6,608 m), Island Peak (6,160 m), Baruntse (7,162 m), etc.
If you wish to see the Himalayas more closely, we highly recommend an EBC helicopter tour instead of a mountain flight. It's a four-hour flight with multiple short landings. Moreover, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast at Everest View Hotel, which has jaw-dropping scenery.
Visit numerous historical sites in Kathmandu
Kathmandu Valley is the capital of Nepal. It is known as the City of Temples and combines three medieval towns: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. In Kathmandu, we offer a guided city tour. One of our friendly guides will assist you during the tour, which takes you to several historical sites.
We begin the tour with an excursion to Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple. This temple is on a hilltop and offers a great view of Kathmandu. We then head to Kathmandu Drunar Square, an ancient royal residence. Locals love this place to chill in the evening. The entrance and around the premises of Durbar Square have many eateries and shops. It is a very happening place among the locals. Here, you explore courtyards, shrines, and palaces.
If we have time left, at the end of the itinerary, we will take you to Boudhnath Stupa, the largest stupa in Nepal and an incredible pilgrimage site with a magical, soothing aura. You then stop at Pashupatinath Temple, one of the significant Hindu temples.
Do window shopping in Thamel
