Nagarkot Sunrise Day Hike Overview
You'll drive up to the Nagarkot viewpoint, where you will have a fantastic sunrise view over the Himalayas. After enjoying the view, you'll have a delicious breakfast in one of the hotels or restaurants in Nagarkot and begin hiking toward the sacred Changunarayan temple.
It takes 3 to 4 hours to hike from Nagarkot to Changunarayan temple. You'll follow a forested path past small settlement areas. After visiting the temple, you drive back to Kathmandu. The Nagarkot hiking trail passes through lush forests, terraced fields, and small villages. To reach Nagarkot, you will come out on the graveled road.

The guide will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning. We will then drive in a private vehicle to the Nagarkot viewpoint. The drive will be a couple of hours long and let you enjoy the beautiful scenery after leaving the city. You'll have some time to relish the sunrise and the mountain views.
After that, have breakfast and get ready for hiking. Trekking through lush forests, terraced fields, and small settlement areas, we'll come out on the graveled road. From here, we walk to the Changunarayan Temple. It is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Visnu. This temple is considered one of the oldest temples in Nepal and was highly important when royals ruled the country.
Explore the temple. The guide will tell you all the stories and myths about this temple. We'll then drive back to Kathmandu.
