These two are famous tourist cities and also the biggest cities in Nepal. You can find a wide range of hotels and resorts in both cities. During trekking, lodges will be your main accommodation. The lodges are mostly simple and offer similar services in all villages.

What kind of services will you get in lodges?

The lodges' rooms are small but clean. There is not much furniture other than two separate beds and a table. You will get a warm blanket, but the temperature sometimes drops significantly at night, and more than one blanket may be needed. You can ask for an additional blanket, but it may not be available, so a high-quality sleeping bag is recommended.

The room cost includes only space to spend the night. Facilities like hot showers, charging, and WiFi cost a few extra bucks. WiFi is not reliable because of the unstable network in the region. It is also only available at lower elevations. You have to use cellular data at the upper elevation.

Note that the connection will only be stable in some places. You can expect to pay USD 2 to USD 4 to use WiFi. Most lodges are operated by solar power, and electricity comes and goes. Therefore, charging a mobile and camera can cost USD 2 to USD 3 per device.

Similarly, hot running water is not available. However, you can get hot water in a bucket to shower. It costs USD 3 to USD 7, depending upon the elevation. If you buy an Annapurna Base Camp trek package, the accommodation and services will be the same as we have described.
